Learn to fly in Manchester with LAC Flying School, the longest running and most well established flying school in the Greater Manchester area. Based at City Airport (Manchester Barton) conveniently located just off the M60 in Eccles makes us easily accessible by road and the Greater Manchester public transport network.

We are passionate about flying training and pride ourselves on achieving high standards. We aim to cater for everyones needs, whether it be a new hobby, the start of a flying career or an unforgettable one off experience...

What do we offer?

Flying Training

We specialise in training for the EASA PPL and also offer advanced courses such as the IMC Rating or Night Rating. We have our own fleet of aircraft for you to learn in which can then be hired from us once you have gained your licence. Our team of friendly staff and instructors will do their best to make learning to fly as enjoyable as possible.

Trial Flying Lessons / Air Experiences

As well as flying training we offer gift vouchers for trial lessons which make an excellent Birthday/Christmas present. Once airborne the student will be handed control and will experience the thrill of flying a light aircraft with a qualified flying instructor. Whether this be the first step on the road to becoming a pilot or simply a one off experience we will do our best to make it a day you won't forget.

Licence Revalidation / Renewal

Having two in house examiners enables us to conduct PPL/IMC revalidations or renewals.

Written Examinations

Our examiners are able to set all the PPL/IMC written examinations here at the flying school at a time to suit the student.

HAVING JUST COMPLETED MY THIRD HOUR OF TRAINING, I KNOW I'VE MADE A GREAT DECISION CHOOSING LAC. MARTIN RUSHBROOKE IS MY INSTRUCTOR, AND WITH OVER 20,000 HOURS IN THE AIR IT TELLS. IT'S NOT EASY BUT THEN AGAIN NOTHING WORTH HAVING EVER IS.
